This large work on paper was based loosely on a small drawing in my sketchbook I did the day before starting. I liked the exterior/interior possibilities and the inclusion of a larger 'lawnbed'. I notice the colors of my work completed over the French winter have felt emotionally colder than my previous works. It is though a case of working with floods, storms and disasters. The process for this work is straightforward from charcoal through to finish. I did wait a day or two before deciding how I wanted to finish it. Frustrated, I completed two others shown works on the side.
